STEP 3/BPP - MRDA Venture Conference

The Moldovan Research & Development Association (MRDA) held a Scientific Business Venture Conference on November 3, 2005. The Conference showcases scientist-company partners presenting innovation business projects to a panel of judges and the greater business community. By gathering entrepreneurial technologists and business professionals, the Conference was intended to encourage partnerships and investment in new ventures.

To encourage greater collaboration between science and business, the Conference hosts has awarded grants to the competition winners to pursue their projects with their company partners. Winners were announced at the reception at the conclusion of the event. "Events such as this Venture Conference serve as a meeting place for entrepreneurial business professionals and technologists to find each other and pursue new initiatives together", said Pol Klein, Senior Program Manager for the U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation (CRDF) Industry Programs.

The event was funded through the CRDF Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Program (STEP), and was the premiere and final event of the 2005 program year.
