CRDF Announces the 2008 CGP Biomedical Research Competition

The U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation (CRDF) is currently accepting proposals for its 2008 Biomedical Research Competition. The primary goals of the Biomedical competition are to:
- Support high-quality, innovative, basic, and applied research and development by establishing sustainable joint U.S.-International research collaborations;
- Provide an alternative to emigration for International scientists. This program provides up to two years of support to joint research teams of U.S. and International scientists.

Proposals may be submitted for consideration on civilian research topics in the biomedical sciences. Individuals from the following countries are eligible to submit proposals and serve as team members: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Poland, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

The total maximum grant size is $90,000 for up to two years. At least 80% of the funds awarded to each project must be used for the International team’s expenses, including institutional support. No more than 20% may be used for the U.S. team’s expenses.
These funds will be allocated separately and administered directly to the individuals and institutions involved.
