The Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM, www.asm.md ), in its role of the highest scientific forum of the country, represents the only public institution of national interest in the sphere of science and innovation, is a plenipotentiary coordinator of scientific and innovation activity, scientific consultant of the public authorities of the Republic of Moldova, has an autonomous statute and acts on the basis of self-administration principles.
The Academy of Sciences develops its activity according to the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, the Code on Science and Innovation, the Partnership Agreement with the Government of the country, its Statute and other legislative and normative documents.1

The U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation (CRDF, www.crdf.org) is a private, nonprofit organization authorized by the U.S. Congress and established by the National Science Foundation in 1995. CRDF promotes international scientific and technical collaboration between the United States and Eurasia through grants, technical resources and training. The foundation also promotes the transition of former weapons scientists to civilian work to help reduce the global spread of weapons of mass destruction.
The Moldovan Research and Development Association (MRDA, www.mrda.md) is an independent, nonprofit organization established in 2000 with the support of the U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundations in cooperation with the Government of Moldova. The Moldovan Research and Development Association advances science and technology development in Moldova by: developing international cooperation; preventing emigration and dissolution of the scientific and industrial potential; contributing to building a knowledge-based economy.
